Defining Moments
3238 BC : Gonanda I, the first king of Kashmir, established Gonanda dynasty and ruled Kashmir.
3188 BC : Gonanda I was killed in the battle by Krishna and Balarama.
3140 BC : Damodara, son of Gonanda I attacked Dwarka to avenge his father's death, but was killed in the battle.
3140 BC : Queen Yasomati, Damodara's wife crowned as Queen of Gonanda dynasty by Lord Krishna.
3128 BC : Gonanda II, son of Queen Yasomati, took over as the King of Gonanda dynasty.
3083 BC : Gonanda II was killed by Parikshit (grandson of Arjuna) and the Kingdom was handed over to Harnadeva. Pandava dynasty started.
1752 BC : King Lava regained the Kingdom from Pandava dynasty and restored Gonanda dynasty.
1182 BC : Gonanda III reigned as King of Gonanda dynasty. Nilamata purana states him as the most righteous and virtuous king.
367 BC : King Gopaditya built the Adi Shankaracharya Temple.
30 BC : Kashmir annexed to Kushan Dynasty and Kanishka, the fourth king of Kushan Dynasty ruled Kashmir.
272 BC : Mauryan Dynasty annexed Kashmir to its Kingdom.
